THE MUSICAL OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

TRAMWAY TO LOVE - A.K.A. `TARIFZONE LIEBE – DIE GEFÜHLE FAHREN STRASSENBAHN‘

The BVG, Berlin’s public transport company, has always expressed its LOVE for the city through funny SONGS. And what is the ultimate combination of LOVE and MUSIC? A musical!

That’s right, we've created an entire musical: characters, costumes, set design and nine specially composed songs. A shared, unforgettable experience – straight from the heart of the brand.

We gave the BVG's love of Berlin the biggest stage possible and got thousands of Berliners to watch an hour of advertising. Voluntarily!

The BVG musical cheekily elevates advertising to an art form. It was performed by Broadway stars, German musical stars and Berlin artists: a refugee choir and a local rapper.

Romantic, ironic and full of references, it is a homage to the city and its culture.

... or, as the Berlin press put it, 'the next level of marketing escalation'.

Performers on stage in vibrant costumes with theatrical props, depicting a scene involving a yellow bus and a phone booth, with dynamic lighting effects enhancing the ambience of the performance.

The musical’s main character is a tram! Her name: Tramara.

She falls in love with Alex, her favorite passenger. Unfortunately, her busy schedule leaves no time for romance.

Nevertheless, Tramara listens to her heart and sets off in search of true love. A bus, a train, a talking ticket machine and lots of passengers are also on board. As well as a few abandoned things – like a talking whip from the Berlin fetish scene and a dental prosthesis that has been left lying around. After a wild ride, there's a happy ending - and not just for Tramara and Alex. The whole city gets on board the tramway to love.

Finally, standing ovations for public transport!
