Season Ending Update

I know that many of you have waited for this season ending UPDATE, so here it is complete with some stats.

We finished the season 6-3 tied for 3rd in the league and lost our shot at the playoffs because the team we tied had beaten us early in the season when they were playing their best ball.

Our last two games happened to be against the #1 and #2 teams in the league respectively. In game 8 against The Dalles we played valiantly. After falling behind 21-0 in the first quarter, we came back to trail only 21-14 at halftime. We had our chances to score and go ahead in the second half but could not convert. We sorely missed the services of our tailback/strong safety who suffered what became a season ending injury the previous week.

In the final game of the season against Wilsonville we had some fundamental breakdowns in execution. Plus, they flat out made some plays that propelled them into the playoffs and we were not able to convert.

The important thing to keep in perspective is that we were there. We competed for the Conference Championship and the playoffs for the first time in a long time. It remains to be seen if enough of the returning players had a big enough taste of success to keep up the challenge. We believe so.

At present the of the players projected to be starters next fall, 10 out of 11 are lifting regularly and they are getting significantly stronger.

Check out the stats to see how the Equalizer did offensively. Keep in mind that this was done with a team that had won less than a handful of games in the past few years.

Keep checking back to the site for additions to whatever. Right now we are concentrating on Championship Training Class and our Book Project.
