THERE ARE A NUMBER OF VARYING CHARTS, ETC. THAT WE USE FOR MOTIVATIONAL PURPOSES. THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM IS OUR GOAL CHARTS FOR GAMES THAT WE USE FOR HELMET AWARDS. WE HAVE USED THESE INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM GOAL CHARTS FOR 25 YEARS AND HAVE FOUND THEM TO BE MOST APPROPRIATE. WE AWARD STARS FOR THE INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS INDICATED AND EVERYONE ON EITHER OFFENSE OR DEFENSE RECEIVES A STAR IF THE OFFENSE OR DEFENSE ACHIEVES 6 OF THE TEN TEAM STANDARDS. IF 8 OF THE TEAM GOALS ARE ACHIEVED IN ANY ONE GAME, EACH MEMBER THAT PLAYED ON OFFENSE (OR THAT DEFENSIVE TEAM) RECEIVES 2 STARS. EVERYONE ON THE TEAM RECEIVES A STAR FOR A VICTORY SINCE EVERYONE HAD A HAND IN THAT WIN EITHER ON THE FIELD OR DURING PRACTICE THAT WEEK.




ONE OF THE THINGS WE HAVE DONE TO INCREASE PROGRAM SALES IS TO MAKE AN INSERT FOR EACH HOME GAME PROGRAM. THIS INSERT INCLUDES UPDATED TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL STATS FOR BOTH OFFENSE AND DEFENSE FOR THE TEAM LEADERS.




SINCE PUTTING IN THESE STATS, PROGRAM SALES HAVE TRIPLED. ALONG WITH THE STATS WE ALSO HAVE THE TWO MIDDLE PAGES OF THE PROGRAM LAID OUT SOMEWHAT LIKE SOME COLLEGE PROGRAMS THAT YOU SEE. WE HAVE ROSTERS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PAGE, A SCOUTING REPORT ON THE GAME, LINE-UP DIAGRAMS FOR THE OFFENSE/DEFENSIVE STARTERS, AND PICTURES FOR THE "GAME CAPTAINS." SAMPLES OF THE INSERTS WILL BE SENT IF YOU ORDER UP THESE CHARTS.
ONE OF OUR MOST USED CHARTS IS OUR STRENGTH STANDARD CHART. THESE ARE THE STANDARDS WE USE TO MEASURE OUR PROGRESS IN OUR STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM. WHEN GIVEN TO THE STUDENT/ATHLETE, IT OFTEN GOES UP ON HIS BEDROOM WALL WHERE HE CHARTS HIS YEAR TO YEAR DEVELOPMENT. IF YOU ORDER UP THE CHARTS AND INCLUDE YOUR SCHOOL'S NAME AND MASCOT, I WILL SEND YOU A CUSTOM CHART FOR YOUR SCHOOL. PEOPLE HAVE NO TROUBLE IDENTIFYING WITH THE STARTING STANDARDS ON THE CHART BELOW. THEY DO HAVE TROUBLE, HOWEVER, BELIEVING IN THE SENIOR LEVEL STANDARDS. I HAVE USED THIS CHART FOR YEARS AND THESE RESULTS ARE POSSIBLE IF THE ATHLETE LIFTS, YEAR-ROUND, ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR THE 4 YEARS HE IS IN SCHOOL. WE RUN A YEAR-ROUND STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM. DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR WE ARE IN THE WEIGHT ROOM WITH OUR OWN "BREAKFAST CLUB" PROGRAM AT 6:06 AM THREE DAYS A WEEK ALL YEAR LONG. LIFTING IS FOLLOWED BY A HEALTHY BREAKFAST IN THE CAFETERIA. DURING THE SUMMER WE RUN A SUMMER SCHOOL PE PROGRAM OF STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING. STUDENTS RECEIVE A PE CREDIT FOR PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM WHICH RUNS 2 HOURS A DAY. ONE HOUR IS LIFTING FOLLOWED BY ONE HOUR OF PLYOMETRICS, SPEED WORK, AND DRILLS. WE HAVE HAD AS MANY AS 130 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM FROM THE 6TH GRADE ON UP THROUGH COLLEGE PLAYERS WHO HAVE RETURNED DURING THE SUMMER AND WISH TO CONTINUE TO LIFT.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ON GOING PROJECT WE HAVE WITH OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS A NEWSLETTER WHICH WE SEND TO ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE SYSTEM JUNIOR HIGH ON UP. DURING THE WINTER WE PUBLISH THE NEWS ONCE A MONTH. IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER WE GO TO BI-MONTHLY PUBLICATION TO KEEP FOOTBALL THOUGHTS FRESH IN THEIR MINDS.
